FT7 CW delay

Postby G0GKH » Thu Dec 01, 2016 7:37 pm

Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

My FT7 seems to have a mind of its own with regard to the T/R delay when on CW.

The delay can initially be set by VR702 as detailed in the manual, but although this pot is electrically ok, once you start sending the delay ends up getting progressively shorter, even if you set it at max delay, until it is going over instananeously after the key is released, as if the delay has reverted to minimum.

It seems like it may be a capacitor up that is affecting this delay. The rig functions perfectly if you use the mic PTT to switch.

It looks like it must be something on the "cont. unit" PCB - PB-1622

Any ideas appreciated, thanks
