757at control cable help (homebrewing)

Postby KB3JZD » Wed Dec 24, 2008 6:07 pm

I am attempting to homebrew a control cable for my FC-757at to my FT-757gx. I was wondering if someone could tell me where each wire from the molex connector on the 757at attaches to the 757gx connector ? Your help will be greatly appreciated !

Thanks

I did some looking in my manuals and here is the info you are looking for,I think.

You will need the 757 radio operational manual, page 19 shows the pinout for the connector to the radio
Pin1 Gnd
Pin2 Band Data D
Pin3 Band Data C
Pin4 Band Data B
Pin5 Band Data A
Pin6 TX
Pin7 13.5V
Pin8 INH

Now get the operational manual out for the 757AT, and look at page7, here is the pin location for the connector.

Next go to page 17, the Main Schematic Diagram, and find the ACC2 connector at the top of the page.
Trace the wires down to the CPU and you'l be able to construct the pinout for the connector.

Pin1 GND
Pin2 Band Data
Pin3 Band Data
Pin4 Band Data
Pin5 Band Data
Pin6
Pin7 12Vdc
Pin8 INH

Now I'm not sure and I don't have a cable handy to test but I would think that the band data for the radio would be the same for the tuner.

If you don't have the manuals handy, they are available in the file section of this site.

Good Luck
