FL 2100Z

Postby holohaj » Fri Mar 25, 2011 1:16 pm

I have two faulty FL 2100Z Amps for which I would like some advice. Amp 1; on 20M and 12M the IP current hits the end stop when keyed without any drive (into a dummy load) and will burn out the anti-parasitic resistors if keyed for short duration. According to the manual it should read 0.09 Amps. It gives this reading on all the other bands.
Amp 2; little or no power out on 15M eventhough the input drive is about 50 watts and the IP is approx. 0.4 Amps. All other bands ok.
Both amps have been modified as recommended to prevent run-away oscillation etc.

Amp #1 would seem to have parasitic issues not cured by existing mods - various additional curing mods can be researched on this board.

Amp #2 might have input circuit issues, or else problems with fixed capacitors in the tank circuit causing it to not load properly on those higher bands.
