fl2100b new tubes

Postby scott181 » Sat Nov 10, 2012 4:46 pm

I replaced the tubes in my FL2100b with brand new ones. Going by
the manual on page 9 it recomends aligning the input coil. Pretty
straight forward to do using the swr meter. The question I have is
it says to disconnect the high voltage terminals of the transformer.
Are we talking about the red wire connected to the 850 volt terminal
on the bottom of the transformer?? Doesn't seem to be anything
connected to the 620 or 425 volt tabs. I wanna do it right the
first time. Any help is appreciated.

I found my own answer after some searching on the web. Yes it
is the red wire from the 850 volt tap on the transformer. Also
here is a link to where I found the info, which shows you how
to align the amp for 12 meters if you want it on 24 Mhz.

Did the alignment, not much better, getting a 2:1 SWR between the
radio and amp into a dummy load. However after putting it all back
together my fans aren't working. Guess I take it all back apart again.
Gotta love carrying this heavy box over to the work bench each time,
and taking out all the screws.
