Has anyone had experience with Chinese made 572B tubes? Do they just plug in and work, or is some modification required?
Thanks.....Colin

Hello Colin,

Here's the information which was found on the Fox Tango Website!

http://www.foxtango.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=213&highlight=taylor++chinese+572b+tubes+fl2100+amplifier

http://foxtango.org/amplifiers/FL%20Amplifier%20Evolution.htm

Now scroll down about 2/3rds of this page where you will the YAESU Technical Bulletin and the Fl-2100B Amplifier Bias Modification For Svetlana and Taylor (Chinese manufactured) 572B tubes, here's the web link:

http://foxtango.org/amplifiers/Technical%20Bulletin.html

After reading the web link, return to the original page and continue to read about some of the modifications to these RF amplifiers. This way you'll be able to understand the first URL that I provided to you. There are some modifications that can cause more problems than they're worth performming.

Dan

I got a pair of Chinese 572b's in my Heathkit SB-200 justplug and play.. Getting as much as 700W keydown on 20 meters don't know anything about lifetime of these tubes but they were cheap.. got them from tubeamp doctor in Germany this was the nearest seller for me with low shipping costs too. Keep your hands away from svetlana tubes as theanode is significant smaller, they seem to be designed for audio amplifiers.
