I am looking for some help on how to adjust the ALC on my FT-1000D
I can't find any info in the manuals.

Sir (name??),
Please explain what it is you mean, "adjust the ALC." Do you refer to some alignment proceedure, setting the mic gain and/or processor levels properly using ALC meter indications, or something to do with driving an amplifier? _________________ Brian K7ZRZ |

the radio is low in power by about 50 watts and want to bring it back to the 200 watt rating that the radio should put out.

Hi Doug,
While I don't have an FT-1000, I do have and daily use an FT-980, which is a close ancestor. If I was having power deficiency problems, I don't think I would be suspecting anything to do with ALC - unless you can see an excessive amount of ALC indication before the rig attains full carrier power output. If adjustment of drive level while transmitting a carrier (tune, CW, or RTTY) does not result in the proper level of power output, I'd likely be thinking bad final devices, or some other alignment issue... but probably someone else who is more technically knowledgeable on the 1000's would have to come in with help in that area
You might also try asking about this on some of the more active and/or FT-1000 specific groups. And good luck with it. _________________ Brian K7ZRZ |
