YD-844 Dynamic Base Microphone

Optional Yaesu accessory — heavy cast metal with a dynamic 50K ohm element for the FT-101 and Yaesu FL-101 / FR-101 twins.

Two PTT buttons: momentary and hands-free key-down with lock. A lift-off switch under the mic keys the transmitter when raised from the desk — clever, though many operators defeat it.

The YD-844 and standard black mobile hand mic support VOX on the FT-101 without using the PTT button — the voice coil connects directly to the modulation amplifier. Keying modes: VOX, MOX (manual from the rig), and PTT (normal mic key line). Available in high and low impedance with shielded cable to a 4-pin mic connector (FT-101) or 3-prong 1/4" stereo jack (FL-101).
